Yeast Infections – Vaginal and Non-Vaginal

Yeast infection can occur in any part of the body such as underarms, between toes and in both men and women. Yeast vaginal infection are very common in women, it has been estimated that they are so common, that nearly 75% of all women alive and having lived, have at one time or another during their life experienced a vaginal yeast infection. Yeast infections are not a serious problem, but they can be very uncomfortable.

Causes of Yeast Infection

  • Reduction in the immune levels of the body
  • Consumption of some antibiotics
  • Stress (both physical and mental)
  • Diabetes
  • Hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle
  • Taking birth control pills.


Symptoms of Vaginal Yeast Infections:

  • Itching and burning in the vagina
  • Swelling, itching, and burning around the vulva (the skin that surrounds your vagina)
  • A white thick vaginal discharge that is mostly odorless
  • Pain during sexual intercourse
  • Soreness & rash on outer lips of the vagina
  • Burning during urination


Symptoms of Non-Vaginal Yeast Infections Involving the Skin

  • Rash, usually round or irregular in shape, red often slightly raised
  • Itching and burning
  • Sometimes a pale spot in the center of a rash (ringworm)


Natural Home Remedy for Yeast Infection

Apple Cider Vinegar: Regularly daubing apple cider vinegar in the areas prone to this infection. Your can add some garlic to stop the itchy feeling; and water to dilute the vinegar concentration.

Probiotics:
Drink at least two glasses of buttermilk, kefir or eating 4 to 6 oz of yogurt daily, or taking probiotic drinks, tablets or caps in a day, whether infected or not. In fact making buttermilk, kefir or yogurt a part of the daily diet in take reduces the probability of yeast infections

Olive Leaf with Grapefruit Seed Extract:
Mixture of olive leaf extract with grapefruit seed extraction a glass of water is a good curative tonic for this infection.

Tea Tree Oil:
A few drops of tea tree oil poured on a tampon and inserted in the vagina can provide some relief.

Garlic Paste: For non-vaginal yeast infections, you can apply garlic paste directly on the affected parts. This remedy is for other affected parts of the body and not for the vaginal yeast infection.

Oatmeal poultice:
Relieve itching with a cold water compress or cool baths or mix instant oatmeal according to instructions let cool or place in refrigerator and the apply to area of most itching.

Eat a balanced diet:
This will help keep your body healthy and help maintain a normal healthy immune system.

Wear cotton and avoid tight-fitting clothing. Avoid tight jeans.


For Yeast Vaginal Infections

Apple Cider Vinegar or Distilled White Vinegar:
For vaginal infections use either 1 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar or Distilled White Vinegar in 2 cups of water and put 1 garlic clove in it. Let it stand for some time and use this for douching.

Boric Acid: Insert 1 or 2 capsules of boric acid into the vagina and keep it there overnight for several nights. For some women the boric acid may cause burning and discomfort for the first few days.

Potassium Sorbate:
Dissolve 1 Tbsp of potassium sorbate in 1 cup water. Insert a tampon into the vagina and pour this solution inside to be absorbed by the tampon. Keep it there overnight. Repeat this for several nights.
